Funding for early-stage exploration is a huge challenge for the mining sector, which is facing a severe discovery deficit at precisely the time we need to find more metals to feed the energy transition.
BHP’s answer to this acute challenge is BHP Xplor, a global accelerator program targeting innovative, early-stage mineral exploration companies looking for the critical resources necessary to drive the energy transition. Companies are invited to apply for purses of US$500,000 in equity-free funding through the program and Xplor will position itself to provide ongoing support for systematic exploration on the back of any early success.
The senior Xplor team will present to the junior mining community at an in-person event during the application process, which will open on September 3rd and close on October 9th, 2024.
Explorers looking to learn more and access Xplor funding are invited to attend the breakfast symposium by registering below.

About BHP Xplor
BHP Xplor is a 6-month, accelerator program for early stage explorers looking to fast-track and de-risk their geologic concepts and become investment ready.
The BHP Xplor program is BHP’s front door for early-stage opportunities in the junior exploration market.
We are searching globally for the next generation of explorers who are ready to think about the earth’s minerals systems differently to unlock the critical minerals needed for the energy transition.
